Basic Job Description:
Assist with the initialization, validation, and application of groundwater flow and/or vadose zone models to various projects.

Duties Include:
This position will involve setting up, running, and validating groundwater models such as MODFLOW or HYDRUS as applied to various projects.  Expertise with hydrogeology, groundwater flow and/or vadose zone modeling, and statistical data analysis is a must.  The successful candidate will work with team of scientists, engineers, and technicians to apply groundwater flow and/or vadose zone models to various projects.

Requirements Include:
Education and Experience:

• Ph.D. or MS degree in hydrogeology or a related scientific discipline; or
• An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Expertise working with groundwater flow and/or vadose zone model applications.
• Experience with statistical data analysis.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work as independently as a team player.
• Willingness to work with other types of environmental models.

Desired (but not required):

• Experience with programming languages such as Fortran, C, or C++.
• Experience with graphical programming languages such as NCAR graphics, NCL, MATLAB, IDE, or equivalent software.
