Norwest is a private employee-owned company with approximately 200 full-time employees. Norwest’s main offices are in Denver, Golden, Salt Lake City, Calgary, and Vancouver. The Denver office, which is currently hiring, manages the hydrology and environmental work. Norwest also has satellite offices in rural Colorado, Brisbane, Australia, Beijing, China, and Buenos Aires, Argentina. Eighty percent of Norwest’s projects are in North America and the rest are overseas (India, Mongolia, China, Australia, Mozambique, Kazakhstan, Mexico, and Argentina). Norwest is a market leader in oil sand evaluation and planning, reservoir engineering, coal mining, and coalbed methane (CBM) evaluation and development.
SUMMARY:
This position will consist of a mixture of analysis (office) and field work. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of tasks, including designing and performing aquifer tests, evaluating geochemical data, planning and performing hydrologic characterization field work, and developing conceptual and numerical groundwater, chemical, and heat flow models. Candidates should be prepared to spend an average of 30% of the time in the field, depending on project requirements and field season timing.
