• Attend the speaker breakfast at 7:30 A.M. on the day of your session. The breakfast will be in Friedhoff Hall in the basement of the Green Center.
  • Introduce yourself to your speakers and collect any biographical information you need.
  • Arrive at your session early, before the session starts.  Double check the equipment.  A CSM graduate student should be available to help monitor audio/visual equipment, room lights, etc.
  • Chair people should sit at the provided table.
  • Re-introduce yourself to the speakers just before the session.
  • Introduce each speaker giving their name and affiliation, followed by either the exact title or a paraphrase.
  • For example: If the speaker is Eileen Poeter of Colorado School of Mines, IGWMC with a Title such as "Estimating Equivalent Continuum Scale of Fractured Aquifers Using Hydraulic Head: Overview and Optimization", you might introduce her as: Our next speaker is Eileen Poeter of Colorado School of Mines, who will talk about using heads to estimate the REV of fractured aquifers.
  • The time limit for each presentation is 12 minutes, followed by 3 minutes of questions from the audience. Should a presentation end early or the presentations are ahead of schedule, you should allocate the additional time for questions from the audience. A timing device will be provided in each room to help manage the time.
  • The timing device should notify the speaker at 11 minutes (1 minute left). If something goes wrong with the timing device, please use your watch to monitor time and gently, but firmly, notify the speaker at 11 minutes by saying "1 minutes left" and at 12 minutes by saying, "Please bring you presentation to a close."
  • IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO STAY ON SCHEDULE. SPEAKERS WHO DO NOT STAY WITHIN THE TIME MUST BE STOPPED BECAUSE OTHER SPEAKERS AND LISTENERS NEED THE PRESENTATIONS TO START AT THE DESIGNATED TIMES.
  • A room adjacent to Petroleum Hall will be accessible for all speakers to prepare for their presentations. The room will be open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • If you should have any questions throughout the conference, please ask anyone working at the registration desk.
  • Enjoy!
