Best Student Abstract Award

Allison Valerio of the University of Colorado for her abstract titled "Incorporating groundwater-surface water interactions into river management operations by linking an object-oriented decision support model (RiverWare) with MODFLOW". The committee was impressed by the broad scope including model development and field application, as well as its potential to improve modeling for making management decisions. Ms. Valerio will present her work at 9AM on Monday morning in Metals Hall.

Kevin Barnhart of the Colorado School of Mines for his abstract titled "Integration of Groundwater Transport Models with Wireless Sensor Networks". The committee appreciated the uniqueness and innovation of his work and its potential for improving modeling for monitoring, management, and decision making. Mr. Barnhart will present his work at 9:16AM on Wednesday morning in Metals Hall.
